In a major technological Boast and Tourism Industry to the Hill State, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Wednesday launched a Free Wifi Service on all stations of Heritage Kalka-Shimla Toy train. Chief Minister apart from launching the Wifi Facility also launched the ‘hop-on-hop-off’ Service that will enable the travellers to get down on any Station during their journey and can catch any other upcoming train without a need to purchase a new ticket.
The ‘hop-on-hop-off’ Service will enable the passengers to board the next train on old ticket unlike earlier.

Chief Minister on the occasion lauded Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal. He thanked Union Minister who considering and taking interest in advancing the Shimla railway station and upgrading Kalka-Shimla railway line.
He also said that all this will play a crucial role in boosting tourism in small villages like – Barog, Solan, Shogi.
Shimla Kalka Railway line has total 12 stations including – Kumarhatti, Solan, Shoghi, Dharmpur Himachal, Barog, Taradevi, Simla, Jutogh, Kalka, Salogra.
Chief Minister Jairam Thakur also inaugurated several other facilities including Modern Toilet Complex. He also laid the foundation of two rope cars and the project for the renovation of Shimla extension station.
