Bhartiya Janta Party has cleared its stand that it would not be forming government in the state due to its strained relations with its ally Shiv Sena. Both the parties have been at loggerhead over the post of Chief Minister in the state. The NDA alliance ‘Mayayuti’ had received a clear majority in Maharashtra as BJP won 105 while Shiv Sena bagged 56 seats in the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly.

Shiv Sena is demanding the execution of 50:50 formula, as per which the CM post is to be decided for 2.5 years between both the parties on a rotational basis. However, the saffron party has insisted on retaining Devendra Fandavis as the Chief Minister only.

In the related note, NCP has called its party meeting today to discuss the political situation of Maharashtra.
