Shiv Sena on Monday released its first list of candidates for Madhya Pradesh state assembly election, scheduled to be held on 28 November. . The candidate list was released in the presence of Shiv Sena chief in Madhya Pradesh Bhai Thadeshwar Mahawar, party’s national coordinator Gulab Chand Dubey, former state chief Suresh Gurjar and party leaders Mukesh Srivastva, Dhanraj Dubey and Dharm Sena chief Prakash Sonwan, Mangilal Saini and Sailendra Raikawar.

The first list contains 21 names out of 230 assembly constituencies. It is reported that the second list will be released on 25 October.

Shiv Sena who was an ally of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has decided to contest solo in Madhya Pradesh.

Although opinion polls have predicted a win for BJP with a few seats lost in comparison to the previous election, there are various parties such as AAP and BSP along with Shiv Sena which could ruin the party’s game in the state. Shivraj Singh Chouhan led BJP government is in power since 15 years and will be contesting to win for the consecutive 4th term.

Voting for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly is scheduled for November 28 and counting of votes will be taken up on December 11.
