Almost a week ago Circle Officer Shreshtha Thakur from Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh has issued a Challan against a BJP worker Pramod Lodhi, for not having adequate papers for his vehicle. He was late put in jail for misbehaving with the police officials. However Pramod alleged that he was put behind the bars because he refused to pay the bribe of 200 rs asked by the police. Shreshtha totally refused to this allegation saying that none of the police officials asked for the bribe.
A few other BJP workers were arrested, when Pramod was produced before the district court, a group of BJP workers demonstrated strike in front of the court and were obstructing the police to carry out government duties. A video went viral that time of Shreshtha who was boldly standing alone against the striking BJP workers saying that even if they bought 100 more workers to demonstrate, she will not be scared and will continue to abide by the rules and duties of the police. She also said that if the BJP workers dint want their vehicles to be checked, they could go to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and get a written permission from him.
Now Shreshtha Thakur has been transferred to Bahraich. She is among the 244 Provincial Police Service personnel who are being transferred under the Yogi Adityanath government. Responding to her transfer, Shreshtha posted on facebook “Got transfer to Bahraich, it’s Nepal border. Don’t worry my friends, I’m happy. I accept it as a reward for my good work.”
