After JD(U) pressurised Tejashwi Yadav to resign from his post of deputy chief minister of Bihar, Congress’  president, Sonia Gandhi, intervened in order to save the great alliance of Bihar. She spoke to CM Nitish Kumar and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and requested them not to do anything that would break the Mahagatbandhan (JD(U)-RJD-Congress).

Even the state Congress leader and Education Minister, Ashok Chowdhry, held a meeting with CM Nitish Kumar at his official residence.

Tejashwi Yadav has tweeted that he will not resign from his post and the rumours of his resignation are fake.

JD(U) has made it clear that they will not compromise with corruption and will follow Nitish Kumar’s policy of zero tolerance to corruption. This was a counter back to RJD’s spokesperson who said that RJD has 80 MLAs and it will do what it wants to do and will stand with Tejashwi Yadav. As RJD Chief, Lalu is in Ranchi to appear before the court for his corruption cases, the final decision would be taken by him. RJD allegedly said that these cases are a conspiracy by BJP in order to break the great alliance and Nitish Yadav knew about it.

JD(U) wants Tejashwi’s resignation but doesn’t want to withdraw from Mahagatbandhan.
