Students and activists who protested against the intermediate examination board were deatined by police on Monday.

Students and activists who protested against the intermediate examination board were detained by police on Monday. The student protest came after 10-20 students committed suicide after failing in intermediate examinations. The Telangana CM ordered free revaluation after the incident had happened. Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana CM Chandrashekhar Rao expressed grief over the issue.

But the protesters continued their protest. The students and opposition demanded Rs.25 lakh for the family of every student who had to go through this. The opposition parties that took the fight against the Telangana government included TDP and Jana Sena among left parties and INC. Almost 3.28 lakh students failed owing to faulty valuation out of 9.74 who took the examination.

These protesters tried to lay siege over office of board of intermediate examination, and Telangana CM Chandrashekhar rao’s official residence, Pragathi Bhavan. The protest was also against education minister J. Jagadish Reddy.

“Almost 280 people were from different parts of the State including Adilabad, Nizamabad and Karimnagar,” said Anjani Kumar, police commissioner of Hyderabad.

“Despite taking action against the Board officials including Secretary A. Ashok, the government deployed heavy police forces, who are not allowing us to stage a protest peacefully,” an NSUI activist said.

“We are not even allowed to take out a peace walk to express our solidarity to more than 20 students who have taken their lives due to the negligence by the Board. The police are not even allowing us to reach the venue,” another protester from Pawan Kalyan’s Jana Sena said.
