In a latest development in the Sunanda Pushkar’s ‘mysterious’ death case, a Delhi Court on Thursday began hearing in the matter.

Congress, heavyweight , Shashi Tharoor, husband to Sunanda Pushkar and also the ‘allegedly’ accused in the case, was also present during the hearing.

However, the case was adjourned till 7th March by the Court.

The Police sought a time of 10 days to the court, to argue on the ‘charges’ against Shashi Tharoor.

Tharoor’s lawyer, Vikas Pahwa said in his statement that they have filed revision petition for non compliance of evidence under section 207 of the CrPC as the documents that they were provided had some discrepancies.

Congress MP, Shashi Tharoor has been charge under Sections 498-A and 306 of the IPC(Indian Penal Code). The case is still underway. However he is not arrested.

Earlier in this month ,a Delhi court referred the Sunanda Pushkar death case to Sessions Court for further proceedings.

Previously,Republic TV’s editor Arnab Goswami landed in trouble as a Delhi Court directed Delhi Police to issue an FIR against him. The order came after Congress MP Shashi Tharoor complained about the theft of confidential data, relating to the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar, ending up being aired on Republic TV.

Metropolitan Magistrate Dharmender Singh, directed the SHO concerned to lodge an FIR and investigate the matter which requires probe. As it is not clear that how could the accused person get his hold on the material.

Tharoor alleged that the material that was collected by the Police during the investigation, which wasn’t meant to be publicly disclosed because the case is still underway. He also said that ‘airing’ of such data was ‘illegal’ as it could only be seen by the police and the court.

His lawyers cited Right to Information replies from Delhi Police saying that “It is not permissible”  to share  information or documents related to an investigation which is still underway.

Tharoor also alleged that his personal e-mail account was also hacked into, as details from his personal e-mail was aired on Republic TV.

The court said, “Such documents are copy of internal file noting of Delhi Police, copy of statement of complainant given to Delhi Police, copy of statement of complainant’s aide Mr Narain Singh, pictures of deceased which were taken during autopsy.”

The court further said,“The court is of the considered view… [that] matter discloses commission of cognizable offence, and in view of this court, matter requires investigation by police as it is not clear that how said material came in the possession of proposed accused persons.”

The Court is also of the notion that the matter should be looked into.

Shashi Tharoor, already has two cases registered against Arnab Goswami. One a criminal defamation suit and the other a civil defamation suit. Both are underway at the court as per the Indian judiciary.

Tharoor is amongst the elite INC leaders, he was the former Union Minister and Sunanda Pushkar’s husband. Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a suite of the Leela Palace, luxury hotel, on the night of January 17,2014.
