Sushma Swaraj (14 Feb 1952 – 06 August, 2019), former foreign minister and BJP leader has breathed her last in AIIMS Delhi. She was 67. Sushma Swaraj was taken to AIIMS after allegedly suffering from a cardiac arrest and according to reports, she was declared brought dead.

Sushma Swaraj had been a phenomenal political leader who held various positions during her long political career. She became an MLA in Haryana assembly at the age of 25 and because a cabinet minister in Haryana government at the age of 27. She also became first women chief minister of Delhi briefly in 1998 and then held the office of foreign minister in the union cabinet under Narendra Modi government from 2014-19. Before that, she was the leader of opposition in Lok Sabha from 2009-14.

Earlier this year, she had requested BJP leadership to not contest the general elections owing to her health. She had undergone a kidney transplant couple of years back.
