Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government on Wednesday permitted Jallikattu, a traditional bull-taming sport, in the state. However, the state government circulated a few guidelines that people have to follow to prevent the spread of the virus.

According to the rules, just 300 bull tamers will be allowed to partake in Jallikattu, Manjuvirattu, and Vadamadu occasions. In truth vid visa (conventional bull races), just 150 racers will be permitted to take part. All the players should go through COVID-19 tests and, simply after they test negative, will be permitted.

People will be permitted to observe the occasion with 50% of the all-out limit of the open spaces. The guidelines stated, “All spectators will be subjected to thermal screening. Other precautionary measures like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing are mandatory.”

Talking about this event, the occasion has been controversial. While animal welfare organizations have been requiring a prohibition on the brutal occasion, political groups have turned out on the side of it and claiming it as “Tamil pride”, and was an approach to save local types of bull.
