Amidst the country struggling to provide its citizens, down with the covd-19 infection, the Tata Group has come out for support. It is importing 24 cryogenic containers via special chartered flights. This move will provide an ease in shortage of oxygen supply across the country.

“PM Narendra Modi’s appeal to the people of India is laudatory and we at the Tata Group, are committed to doing as much as possible to strengthen the fight against COVID-19. To mitigate the oxygen crisis, there is one such effort to boost health Infrastructure. The Tata group is importing 24 cryogenic containers to transport liquid oxygen and help ease the oxygen shortage in the country,” the Tata Group took to their official Twitter account.

On April 18, TATA Companies announces the supply of 200-300 tons of liquid medical oxygen daily to various Indian states government and hospitals. It is their initiative to help the medical workers combat with the patients coming with grievances’.

In 2020, when India was hit by the first wave of covid-19, Tata Trusts and Tata Sons- donated Rs 1,500 crore towards coronavirus relief funds for the insurance of availability of protective equipment to medical frontline workers, respiratory systems for treating increasing cases, testing kits to ramp up testing across the country and setting up treatment facilities for those who have already caught the virus.
While among others were Flipkart, Walmart Inc., Wipro Ltd, Wipro Enterprises Ltd and Azim Prem ji Foundation.
The group also initiated to train health workers and the general public to empower them against coronavirus.
