In a fresh rift within the Lalu Yadav‘s family in Bihar, his eldest son Tej Pratap Yadav may enter into a political fight against the father of the estranged wife Chandrika Rai from Saran Parliamentary Seat in the next month’s mega battle of ballots.
Rai has been given a ticket by the Rashtriya Janata Dal from the Saran. Reportedly, Tej Pratap was unhappy with his younger brother Tejashwi Yadav’s move to named Rai from the Saran Seat – a seat which has been in past won by his father Lalu Prasad Yadav four times.
The development came hours after RJD Leader and Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav announced candidates for the 18 seats allotted to them in Mahagathbandhan with other allies.
Tej Pratap Yadav had on Thursday resigned as the chief of Rashtriya Janata Dal’s student wing claiming that the top authorities of the party did not consider his candidates for the nomination of the seats.
“I am resigning from the post of patron of Chhatra Rashtriya Janata Dal. Those who think I am naive must be naive themselves. I know each minister’s stand in the party,” tweeted Tez Pratap Yadav on Thursday (in Hindi).

Reportedly, Tez Pratap had suggested Tejashwi Yadav consider two names for the mega Lok Sabha Polls 2019. He wanted to press for the candidature of his close aides – Angesh Kumar and Chandra Prakash from Sheohar and Jehanabad respectively.

However, Tej Pratap Yadav has not made any official announcement about contesting the Lok Sabha Seat.
Bhartiya Janta Party who has forged an alliance with JDU and LJP has named Rajeev Pratap Rudi (BJP) from Saran Lok Sabha Seat.
Tej Pratap and Tejashwi both made their debut electoral field simultaneously in the 2015 assembly elections in Bihar. While Tej Pratap was given a Cabinet berth, Tejashwi was appointed as the deputy chief minister.
Tej Pratap Yadab had in November last year filed a petition in the Court seeking Divorce from his newly-wed wife Aishwarya Rai – daughter of Chandrika Rai and Granddaughter of Former CM Daroga Rai.
