The Telangana Congress asked State Chief Electoral officer to provide polling percentage details of four Lok Sabha seats till 5 pm in the state on Tuesday.

The Congress’ letter to the CEO was filed by MLA Marri Shashidhar Reddy who claimed that there was an unusual increase of votes between those registered on the polling day and the final the final figures.

He said he wanted to make a study on the polling figures in Nizamabad, Secunderabad, Khammam and Chevella where claims where raised by him of unusual increase of 5.26 per cent in polling. Maari Shashidhar Reddy also said that the CEO ‘shied away’ from putting out any information on that.

Polling for the third and final phase of the rural local body elections happened in Telangana on Tuesday at 9,494 polling stations commencing at 7 pm and ending at 5 pm. The first and second phases of polling took place on May 6th and 10th respectively.

The Congress party in Telangana is in bad state of affairs with internal troubles and the party not being able to combat the power of the regional parties. Reportedly leaders of the Telangana Congress are being upset with the party’s leadership including the president Nalamada Uttam Kumar Reddy and the general secretary, Ramachandra Khuntia. Moreover many of the leaders of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee defected to the TRS.
