Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka who is the current leader of opposition in Telangana Legislative Assembly on Sunday written to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. In a letter to CM, Congress Telangana MLA requested him not to attend the inauguration of Kaleshwaram Irrigation Project whose Inauguration is slated for June 21.

Speaking to ANI in Hyderabad, Bhatti Vikramarka said that he has written to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and requested him not to attend the Inauguration ceremony of the Kaleshhwarama Lift Irrigation Project (KILP).

He added that the Project was initiated by Andhra Pradesh Former CM YS Rajashekhar Reddy.

He further slammed Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao and said that KCR is inaugurating the uncomplete project. He claimed that the project is merely 15% completed but KCR is inaugurating the project.

Talking about the project, Telangana Congress MLA said that when the construction was started, the government at that time spent over 10,000 crores at initial levels. But the current CM has resigned the entire project that delayed. If the government had stuck with the previous plan, it must have completed the project till now. The total height of the project has also been brought down by 100 meters to 152 meters.

He added that at the initial level the total cost was 38,000 crore however with making changes the total cost of the project was raised 1.50 Lakh crore.

While as per TRS-Led Telangana Government the total estimated cost of the project is ₹80,500 crore and is the costliest project undertaken by the state.

The Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project is aimed to irrigate 7,38,851 hectares of Land and will benefit the areas of Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Warangal, Medak, Nalgonda, and Ranga Reddy Districts.

Apart from Jagan Mohan Reddy, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has also been invited to the Inauguration of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project (KLIP).
