The Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) on Monday has launched an app named ‘mAadhaar’. The app will allow us to keep the Aadhaar in our mobile with other details also, such as name, date of birth, gender, address and the photograph linked with their Aadhaar number. The app is now available on the Android store and will soon be available for an iOS store also. To use the Aadhaar app, the person should use the mobile number which is registered with the Aadhaar.

By using the mAadhaar app, users can download their Aadhaar number profile and will therefore not require hard copies of the card, wherever applicable. Apart, the app also allows users to lock or unlock biometrics data. Interestingly, the app is also featured with “Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP)” feature which can be used instead of SMS-based OTP.

Also, the app will help users to see their update profile upon completion of the update request. Besides users can share QR code and password protected eKYC data retrieve accurate demographic information from it instead of manual entry. However, the app is currently in its beta phase.
