Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident in which a woman was set on fire in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. The Chief Minister has said treatment of the victim will be carried out on government expenses and strict action will be taken against the accused.
Just a week after the horrific incident in Telangana, where a veterinary surgeon was gang-raped and murdered, a survivor in Bihar area of Unnao was set-ablaze by the rapists on Thursday.
The incident happened when the accused, who were out on bail, burnt the woman by dousing her with kerosene more than a kilometre away from her home on a deserted road. Police say, “Victim has been referred to a hospital in Lucknow for better treatment. We have rounded up 3 accused, search for 2 others is underway.”
The main accused Shivam Trivedi is yet to be nabbed.
