On Sunday the CM, Yogi Adityanath decided to set up a committee for 5lakh migrant workers who have come in the past 45days.

While addressing the press conference state additional chief secretary Avanish Awasthi stated that on the orders of the CM, a committee shall be set up to employ 5 lakh workers which include the daily wagers, construction workers, etc. who have come to the state in the past 45days.

He added that the migrant workers shall be primarily be engaged in the agriculture sector to boost the rural economy. Principal secretary agriculture, rural development and MSME will be part of this committee headed by the Agriculture Production Commissioner.

He further added that they shall be starting delivering essential items for pregnant women and their children. The state government has so far engaged 50,810 people for the delivery of essential items. On a day before Sunday 12.78 lakh, food packets were distributed from the community kitchens opened across the state to help the needy.

These directions were given by CM while reviewing the lockdown situation at his official residence in Lucknow.

However, the UP CM said those coming from the outside state should be quarantined to check the coronavirus spread.
