US General Charles A Flynn calls China's activities in Ladakh ‘Alarming’

The border dispute between India and China has been going on for a long time. Meanwhile, US General Charles A Flynn has called China’s activities in Ladakh ‘Alarming’. He said that this attitude of China is going to damage relations with neighboring countries. The American general was talking about the construction work on behalf of China in the Himalayan region.

“I believe that the activity level is eye-opening. I think some of the infrastructure that is being created in the Western Theatre Command is alarming. And so much, like across all of their military arsenal, one has to ask the question, why,” the General, who oversees the Asia-Pacific region, told a select group of journalists.

India and US will exercise in October 2022. This practice will take place in the Himalayan region at an altitude of 9000-10,000 feet as part of the Yuddh Abhyas exercises this October. The objective of this exercise is to prepare for joint operations in high altitude areas. This includes new technology, Air Force resources, fighter aircraft, logistics and exercises to share information in real time.

This includes new technology, Air Force assets, attack aviation, logistics, and information sharing on a real-time basis. Indian forces will then train in similar extreme-cold weather conditions in Alaska. The exercises are meant to be extremely high-level joint operations across the gamut of high-altitude warfare.  “These are all invaluable opportunities that the Indian Army and the US Army can capitalise on,” General Flynn said.

In January, satellite images showed China was building a bridge near Pangong Lake. Apart from this, China has intensified the construction of airstrips, roads, which gives a direct challenge to India from China in the Himalayan region. So far more than 12 military meetings have been held between India and China regarding the border dispute, but no solution has been found so far on this issue.
