According to the reports, the supplementary budget carries a total estimated sum of Rs. 4210.85 crores.  It has been reported that the allocated funds will be used up for the development of industries and expressway projects within the state. The reason to table a supplementary budget was to get the legislative approval for meeting any additional expenses during the current financial year for greenfield or brownfield projects.

Expenditure on the revenue account is Rs. 2234.15 crore while the expenditure on the capital account has been estimated to be Rs. 1976.70 crores. The budget also included the central grants component worth of Rs. 330 crore. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath has allocated Rs 30 crore for setting up a zoological garden in the Gorakhpur region. While Rs. 23 crore has been allocated for the treatment and disposal of chromium waste in the industrial enclave of Rania in Kanpur Dehat district.

Breaking down the budget, it was found that a whopping Rs. 960 crore has been allocated to the Uttar Pradesh Expressway Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) so that it can ensure the prepayment of loans taken from HUDCO for the ongoing Purvanchal Expressway project in the state.
