On the Occasion of 5th International Yoga Day, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Gujarat Government announced to set up a Yoga board to popularise yoga among the people. Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani speaking at the state level program, said that proposed ‘Yoga Board’ will work towards popularising the ancient practice in the state.

Speaking in the state-level program which was attended by Governor OP Kohli, CM Rupani expressed happiness over 1.50 crore people across the state joining him in the International Yoga Day celebrations.

On the occasion, State ministers and other dignitaries performed Yoga.

Further speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani urged people to adopt Yoga in their day to day life to stay Well. ‘It was such a blissful experience to participate & perform Yoga along with thousands of people in the morning of at Ahmedabad’, Rupani said in a tweet.

As per the government’s release, over 1.50 crore people participated in the International Yoga Day events held at 50,000 locations across Gujarat.

The theme of the 5th International Yoga Day is ‘Climate Change’.

While similar events were organized across the nation by the Central along with State Governments including the mega one in Ranchi where PM Modi performed Yoga.

Speaking on the occasion of 5th International Yoga Day, PM Narendra Modi said our focus should be on the wellness as well as protection from illness. He said Let our Motto be Yoga for peace, harmony, and progress.

Addressing over 30,000 people at the Prabhat Tara Ground in Ranchi, PM Narendra Modi thanked all the people around the globe for joining the celebrations of the International Yoga Day.

The First International Day of Yoga was celebrated on June 21, 2015, all over the World were PM Modi along with 30,000 performed yoga at the Rajpath in the national capital. Last year, the mega event was organized in Dehradun. PM Modi along with 50,000 performed Yoga last time at Forest Research Institute.
