5. Chowdiah Memorial Hall:

It is a cultural centre in Bangalore, which focuses on music and theatres.  It was built as a tribute to Tirumakudalu Chowdiah, a violin maestro. The building was designed by S.N Murthy and the construction took 7 years, costing Rs 36 lakh. It is administered by Academy of Music, an independent registered body. The auditorium is built in the shape of a seven stringed violin along with the strings, keys, bridge and the bow. This is the only auditorium in the world which is built in memory of a musician and is shaped like a violin. It hosts a wide range of events such as plays, concerts, ghazals, jugakbandis, music festivals and so on.
