I have been in Bangalore for around 5 years now and I have loved everything here except the location of new Bangalore International Airport (Newly named as Kempegowda International Airport). The airport, often regarded as one of the best in India, is located at a distance of around 40 kilometers from the center of city which sometimes irritates the travelers who fly to different destinations.
Well, reaching to the airport in the peak hours on any day takes at least a couple of hours, adding the mandatory time of check in (45 minutes) makes it around 3 hours and believe me, after all that frustration and tiredness, you would not want to get into the flight and eat the same boring sandwich after paying well over 200 bucks. If the above mentioned fact suits on you, then you can cheer the next time you’re planning to board a flight from the Bengaluru Airport, because I have recently discovered (I mean it, I discovered the place out of nowhere) a cool place right above the boarding gates in the Bangalore Airport.
The place, known as Above Ground Level Lounge is a pretty relaxing place to spend some quality time before boarding the flight. The place guarantees you a good time with a home-like feel in the food. I happened to visit the place last week and it surely took me by storm because I never thought there was such a place with amazing ambiance right on the airport which could be checked out after you get your boarding pass and you literally have nothing other than to watch out girls or to sit next to the security gate to wait for the boarding to start.
After you cross the security check, there are very few options you have. Above Ground Level comes out to provide you the best of them. The access packages depend on your need. You can get a coffee with some snacks at as low as Rs 299 and at the same time, if you are hungry, you can enjoy the buffet at Rs 650 (inclusive of taxes), which I am sure is a good deal compared to the price list in the in-flight menu. Another interesting thing about the buffet is that it gets changed every time and you will surely get to experience something different everytime you get in.

If you happen to have some time before boarding the flight, I would surely advice you to go and relax at the Above Ground level and I am sure, you will love the experience.
