The Art of Living is a non Government organization founded in the year 1981 by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. It is a humanitarian movement focusing on Stress Management & leading a healthy life.  He dreamt of a “stress free & violent free world,  motivating millions of people through his programs. The organization operates globally in 152 countries and has touched the lives of over 370 million people. It has one of the largest Volunteer bases in the world. It has the headquarters rooted in Bangalore.

The Art of Living Foundation was formed in 1989 in US & Germany, after which the formation of local centers took place. They have a board of trustees for a period of 2 years. The Art of Living involves faculties & the previous trustees to nominate a new board. The system is very transparent as all the accounts are audited externally. The trustees are entitled only for the expenses that incurs officially. The profits from the programs and sale of Ayurvedic products are utilized for humanitarian projects.

The Art of Living offers stress-elimination programs which includes breathing techniques, meditation and yoga. These programs have helped millions around the world to overcome stress, depression and violent tendencies.  It is also actively involved in the following projects:
