Our Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched many schemes till 2018 for the benefit of the Indian economy and also for the Indian citizens. But most of us are not getting benefits from these government schemes as we are unaware of the schemes and their uses. Hence, in this article, we have provided complete details and benefits of some 10 important schemes by the Modi Government that you should know. The list of top 10 government schemes launched by Narendra Modi is as follows.

  1. Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY) has been launched on 28th August 2014. The main objective of this scheme is to ensure access to various financial services like availability of savings bank account, access to credit, insurance, pension, and remittances facility to all the people who belong to economically weaker sections of the country. PMJDY scheme offers accident benefit of Rs. 1 Lakh and life cover of Rs. 30, 000. It requires the beneficiaries to have a Rupay Debit/ ATM Card with zero minimum balance.

  1. Atal Pension Yojna

The Atal Pension Scheme was launched on 9th May 2015. All the people who are between the age group of 18 to 40 years are eligible for this scheme and needs to contribute till the beneficiary turns 60. Every person from the age of 40 years must pay Rs. 291 monthly for 20 years, whereas the individuals at the age of 18 years have to pay Rs. 42 monthly for 40 years. The beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension of Rs. 1000 to Rs. 5000 at the age of 60 years.

  1. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana is an accident insurance scheme which can be availed by anyone who holds a savings account in any of the participating banks. An annual premium of Rs. 12 is payable through an ‘auto-debit’ facility to avail this scheme. The insured or the nominee will get Rs. 2, 00,000 for accidental disability or death benefit.

  1. Pradhan Mantri Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana has been launched on 11th October 2014. The MP’s must develop the socio-economic and physical infrastructure of three villages each by 2019 and a total of eight villages by 2024 under this scheme.

  1. Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyothi Bima Yojana (PMJJBY)

The PMJJBY was launched on 15h May 2015. It is a life insurance scheme which can be subscribed by the individuals whose age is in between 18 to 70 years and also has a savings account in any of the participating banks. The policyholder must pay an annual premium of Rs. 330 for a life cover of Rs. 2,00,000.

  1. Sukanya Samridhi Yojana

Sukanya Samridhi Yojana is a small deposit scheme launched on 22nd January 2015. The main theme of this scheme is to secure every girl child’s future. It ensures equitable share to a girl child in the properties of a family in which she is generally discriminated as against a male child.

  1. Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyaan (Ayushman Bharat)

This scheme was launched on 25th September 2018. The objective of this scheme is to provide quality healthcare facilities to the sections of the society who cannot afford it. It mainly focuses on the wellness of the economically backward families.

  1. Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana has been launched on 8th April 2015. It is a financial or loan scheme to support small-scale businesses and to promote entrepreneurship among people.

  1. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a housing scheme launched on 25th June 2015. It is a small initiative by PM Modi to provide affordable houses to the people. The urban people belonging to the economically backward class are eligible for this scheme.

  1. Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme

Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme is a social welfare scheme launched on 15th January 2015. The main objective of this scheme is to provide awareness and improve the efficiency among the people regarding the welfare services intended for girls.
