The main Opposition in Punjab Assembly Aam Aadmi Party on Friday staged a walkout from Punjab Assembly after the Speaker did not allow the discussion of Maur Bomb Blast Issue. The Issue was raised by Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Jagdev Singh Kamalu, from the Maur seat, during the Zero Hour of the ongoing Budget session. However, Speaker did not allow any discussion.

On which, all AAP Lawmakers troped into the well and started sloganeering against Congress government and later staged a walkout from the house.

AAP in the house also raised the issue of proclaimed offenders and demanded the pictures of such offenders should be made public.

Leader of Opposition (LoP) Harpal Singh Cheema who alleged the criminals were enjoying the political patronage. He claimed that no action had been taken in case of a  Congress leader’s personal assistant who had been declared a proclaimed offender.

MLA from Maur Jagdev Singh Kamalu accused the government of having failed to nab the culprits and give compensation to the victims’ families. Maur Bomb Blast happened in Maur Mandi town of Bathinda District on January 31, 2017. The blast happened near the poll campaign venue of Congress candidate Harminder Singh Jassi. Seven People including 5 children were reportedly killed during the tragic explosion.

Apart from this Issue, Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) also rocked the Assembly with protest. During the Zero Hour, the SAD and BJP MLAs, led by Parminder Singh Dhindsa, urged the speaker to allow them to move a resolution, condemning the Pakistani prime minister for his statement after the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.

Imran Khan in his had warned and said that “Pakistan would retaliate if India carried out an attack” after the Pulwama Terror Attack.

BJP-SAD Members continued with the demand and shared heated arguments with Congress MLAs, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa. Randhawa said, ‘they (BJP-SAD) should meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and urge him to ” launch a war” against Pakistan to “break the neighboring nation into two”.

Akali and BJP Lawmakers later jumped into the well and shouted slogans. Then they staged a walkout from the assembly after the speaker rejected Akali’s resolution.
