Following the election campaign in Kerala, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi is stationed to Haryana on Friday. The Congress president will address a rally at Jagadhri in Yamunanagar, Haryana.

Manohar Lal Khattar, Leader of Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) is the present Chief Minister of the state.

Former deputy speaker and two-time MLA, Akram Khan will join the Congress in the presence of Rahul Gandhi on March 29. Akram Khan was a member from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) when he was later expelled from the party for his derogatory activities.

“Rahul will address a gathering at Jagadhri on March 29 at 1.30pm and then he would take part in a roadshow to Karnal. He, along with Haryana senior leaders and party in-charge Ghulam Nabi Azad, will interact with workers and address small gatherings at Ladwa, Indri and Karnal,” party state president Ashok Tanwar said on Wednesday. He was requested by party officials to ask his party to address the gathering in Haryana.

Due to the announcements of Tanwar for the rally in Haryana, all addressing in the Ambala were canceled for today as Rahul Gandhi took for Jagadhri from Kurukshetra.

The Haryana campaign will be Rahul Gandhi’s first such event in the state since he took over as the AICC chief on December 16, 2017.

Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) chief Ashok Tanwar expressed his desire to contest elections. He said that the names for the LS seats will be announced in the first week of April.

BJP is likely to replace six of the eight candidates it had fielded in the previous Lok Sabha polls. Meanwhile, three rebel leaders from opposition parties have joined BJP in a fortnight. On Monday, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) MLA Kehar Rawat joined BJP. Last week, INLD MLA Ranbir Singh Gangwa also joined the party.

BJP might field former two time Congress MP from Karnal constituency, Arvind Sharma in the LS polls.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has exuded confidence that it would win all the ten parliamentary seats in the state.

The elections in Haryana will be contested over 10 seats. Bhartiya Janta party will have 7 seats, Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) will have two seats and one seat for Congress. The total number of assembly seats contribute to 90.

Haryana will go for Lok Sabha polling on May 12 and the results for the election will be announced on 23rd May.
