Ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Polls, Bahujan Samaj Party(BSP) chief, Mayawati hits out at both the national parties, BJP and Congress while addressing a poll rally in Odisha’s Bhubaneswar. Boiling down to the accusations, Mayawati said one was embroiled in the Bofors scam( Congress) and the other is involved in the “rafale scam(BJP).

As a part of her election campaigning, Mayawati will also visit Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and address a joint media conference with Jana Sena party founder Pawan Kalyan tomorrow.

In her speech against the ruling party, She added, “The way PM Narendra Modi’s government implemented Goods and services tax (GST) and demonetizations, in haste, it affected small businesses. The step also led to an increase in the unemployment rate. Congress was involved in Bofors and BJP is involved in Rafale.”

Earlier Mayawati justified her statements in supreme court for the installation of statues in Uttar Pradesh saying that it was ‘in the will of the people’ that the statues were made and the expenditure was funded by BSP well wishers.

Meanwhile, Congress President Rahul Gandhi released the party’s manifesto for the upcoming general elections promising wealth and welfare for all sections. Apart from NYAY, the party has promised to eliminate the citizenship bill, implement the minimum income scheme, employment, a check into rafale deal, a separate budget for farmers, making defamation a civil offense.

Earlier CPI(M) released the party’s manifesto promising a better government at the center.

The country will go for polls for 2019 in the seven phases of elections starting from April 11 till May 20. The counting of the votes is scheduled on May 23, and the results will be announced on the same day.
