The four-year anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s NDA government yesterday resulted in a big war of words between the ruling dispensation and the Congress-led opposition involving both sides coming up with their own versions of the center’s report card for this period.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi led his party’s charge with a tweet awarding an ‘F grade’ to the government on accounts of agriculture, foreign policy, job creation and fuel prices, with ‘A+’ for slogan creation and self-promotion, and a ‘B-‘ for yoga. He even took a jibe at PM Modi by describing him as a “master communicator” who “struggles with complex issues” and has a “short attention span”.

Chidambaram, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Kapil Sibal and Randeep Surjewala held a series of press conferences throughout the day to point out promises that the Modi government had failed to fulfil.

On the other side, PM Narendra Modi began the day by taking to Twitter to thank people for showing “unwavering faith” in his government. He said development has become a “vibrant mass movement” in these four years and 125 crore Indians are “taking India to great heights.”

Last evening, he addressed a large rally in Odisha’s Cuttack city where he listed out all of the government’s achievements, from economic growth to social empowerment. Modi also took at dig at the opposition for keeping their rivalries aside and uniting just to keep BJP away.

Senior BJP leaders Amit Shah, Piyush Goyal, Ravishankar Prasad, Arun Jaitley and Rajnath Singh also listed out the government’s achievements in these four years and laid down their roadmap for upcoming assembly and general elections.
