BJP added another feather of membership in its team cap in Andhra Pradesh today. Around 60 top brass leaders of Telugu Desam Party joined the saffron party in the presence of BJP’s working president Jagat Prakash Nadda.
Along with these leaders, thousands of other party workers also joined the BJP party. These 60 leaders from the structure of Telugu Desam Party at national, state and district levels.
BJP is seeing the addition of new members every day. Recently, Delhi AAP party’s former member Kapil Mishra also joined the saffron party. Two other AAP MLAs are facing similar charges of disqualification. Devender Sehrawat and Anil Bajpai have also joined the BJP during Lok Sabha polls.
In another event held last week, Wrestler Babita Phogat and her father Mahavir Phogat also joined the party.
BJP is currently carrying its membership drive. The membership drive was started from July 6 with the target of adding 4 crore new joiners. But looking at the great response, the party has decided to extend its drive up to August 20. Earlier the program was slated to end on August 11.
Addressing the gathering, Jagat Prakash Nadda said that the BJP will elect its national president before December 31.
