Taking the fight against EVM tempering further, Aam Aadmi Party has decided to initiate a campaign to ask election commission to use VVPAT (voter verified paper trail) in all the further elections. According to party leaders, this will save democracy and the campaign will be started from Thursday.

The first protest under the new campaign will take place at the doorstep of election commission office in New Delhi. Delhi convener of Aam Aadmi Party, Gopal Rai mentioned that AAP will attend the all party meet organised by the election commission on May 12th and will decide the future course of action based on the outcome of the same event.

Election Commission has been maintaining its stance over the fact that EVMs are temper proof, however, Gopal Rai further stated that the live demonstration in Delhi Assembly by MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj proves that EVMs can be tempered.

Along with demanding VVPAT enabled EVMs for all the elections, Aam Aadmi Party is also suggesting to randomly choose 25% of the booth and manually compare the number of votes in EVM and on the paper trail.
