Aam Aadmi Party, which runs the government in Delhi is set to launch a nationwide agitation to support farmers cause from June 10th. The latest move comes after the party was handed over an embarrassing defeat in recent assembly elections of Punjab and Goa. With this agitation, it is targeting the votes from the rural areas and it is looking to cash on the ongoing issue of farmers suicide in Maharashtra and states in west and central India including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

The agitation will be launched by various state units of Aam Aadmi Party. It has already started with its proceedings in Maharashtra and with the help of Shiv Sena, it has got notable response. The party is excited after a great reach out to its agitation in areas which are considered as the strong hold of BJP. According to one of the insiders in AAP, the party is looking to redraw its strategy and working on expanding its support base.

Till now, Aam Aadmi Party has projected itself as a youth centric party with campaigns in the urban areas. However, with these moves, the party is looking to target the rural segment and farmers.

With the agitation, it is demanding a loan waiver for farmers hit by bad crops and drought. Along with this, it also plans to push for implementing the recommendations of Swaminathan committee.
