READ: Lok Sabha Polls 2019: EC accepts Gautam Gambhir’s nomination from Delhi East; rejects AAP, Congress Objections
Gautam Gambhir had on March 22 joined Bharatiya Janata Party in presence of Union Minister Arun Jaitley. He has been named by the party from Delhi East Lok Sabha Seat. He is pitched against AAP’s Atishi and Congress nominee Arvinder Singh Lovely.
Earlier during the nominations, AAP has alleged that the stamp paper on which the affidavit has been furnished is dated April 23 whereas the notarial stamp on two affidavits submitted by the Cricketer-turned-Politician Gautam Gambhir has a date of April 18 and April 19.
However, the Poll Officials rejected the allegations after Gambhir filed a response explaining that the ’18/04′ and ’19/04′ were not the dates rather the serial number of the notary. The date is April 23 and there is no discrepancy.
Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23.
