The Aam Aadmi party has questioned Central government’s move to regularize unauthorized colonies in the national capital. AAP

Floating a new slogan for the party – ‘Jhaanse mei nahi ayenge, Kejriwal ko jitayenge’ (Will not come tricked, will make Kejriwal win), the Aam Aadmi party alleged that the legislation was brought with an ‘ill-intention’ to woo the voters just before Delhi assembly elections. Taking a jibe, Raghav Chadha claimed that this was an eye wash exercise by the BJP led central government to provide ‘lollipop’ to select few 100 residents of the unauthorized colonies in hope of acquiring votes of 40 lakh residents.

Questioning the Government’s timing, Senior AAP leader Raghav Chadha asked, “BJP continued to refuse using CM Arvind Kejriwal’s maps of unauthorized colonies for four years insisting on a fresh mapping exercise, but are now willing to use the same map to give registry to 100 people. If the intent was there why were these maps not used earlier?”

In concluding remarks, Chadha said that people will not be ‘fooled’ by these attempts and will vote for the leader that has worked for them

The bill to regularize unauthorized colonies was passed in Lok Sabha on Thursday. This will pave way for recognizing the property rights of residents living in unauthorized colonies by securing their rights of ownership.
