AAP has fallen in trouble as some of its MLAs have been charged with assaulting Delhi’s Chief Secretary. Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash alleged that he was attacked by AAP MLAs when he arrived for a meeting with the Chief Minister.

AAP has denied the allegations, calling it ‘motivated’ and ‘ludicrous’. On account of the attack, an FIR was filed against AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan and 11 other MLAs. Mr. Prakash according to his complaint arrived at Arvind Kejriwal’s house to discuss the release of advertisements marking the party’s three years in power. According to the complaint the assault took place in the presence of the Chief Minister. He named Deputy Chief Minister, Manish Sisodia and 11 other MLAs. They tried to intimidate him as per the allegation. He said he also suffered blows to the head and temple.

AAP, on the other hand, said the meeting was planned to discuss reasons why 2.5 lakh families hadn’t received their rations due to glitches in the implementation of Aadhaar. The statement said that the chief secretary refused to answer the questions asked of him. He was said to have used bad language against some of the MLAs. On 20th February the Delhi Secretariat was in an uproar. The officials protested the manhandling of the chief secretary. Environment minister  Imran Hussain said that they were attacked by the protesting officials at the Delhi Secretariat. A video shows blows being exchanged. The police are investigating the two cases registered, separately.

The IAS association also extended support to Mr. Prakash’s cause. The opposition has come out in support of Prakash, attributing the attack to the directives of Arvind Kejriwal. In the stand-off, AAP was called the urban-Naxalite face of Delhi. The attack on Prakash presents a peculiar situation of law and order. The two stories are completely different and allegations have been thrown either way. It appears that all is not so well in Delhi.
