As the polling in Punjab is getting closer, the Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday unveiled its poll manifesto for the state where polls are due for May 19. The 11-point poll manifesto promises to put pressure on the new government at Centre to implement Swaminathan Commission report. AAP in its 11-point poll manifesto majorly include issues related to farmers in the state.

The poll manifesto also promised to set up agro-based industry in the state to boost the farmers’ income.

AAP MLA and party’s campaign committee chief Aman Arora in a tweet said, “Released AAP’s 11 point Manifesto-cum-Vision Document for Punjab. AAP Punjab reaffirms it’s a commitment for Swaminathan Com, Employment-intensive Agro-Processing and PSU Industry, IIT, IIM, PGI, AIIMS for Health and Edu Services, Special package for Punjab and robust plan for preserving the environment”.

Aam Aadmi Party who is contesting its second national elections has also promised to reduce and simplify the rates of the GST.

Speaking on the launch event of the manifesto, AAP’s Campaign Committee Aman Arora said, ‘AAP in the state is aware of the problems of the people, Issues like farmers’ Distress, unemployment and the problems faced by industrialists and traders in the state need to be addressed sooner than later. There is an urgent need to address these issues to bring progress and prosperity’.

We are also committed for ‘One Tax, One Country’, said Aman Arora.

AAP’s 11 point poll manifesto also seeks to bring better health services by constructing more government hospitals in Punjab. Arora further speaking in launch event said that AAP in the state will not pitch for any false promise just to seek power.

AAP in the state is taking on Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) who has forged an alliance with Bhartiya Janta Party.

General Elections 2019 is being held across seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23 four days after the 7th phase of voting.

Punjab for its 13 Parliamentary seats will poll in a single phase on May 19 four days ahead of counting.

In 2014 General Elections, BJP-SAD combine won 6 Lok Sabha Seats with BJP emerged victorious on 2 seats while SAD on 4. Congress who suffered major setback across the nation managed to win 3 Lok Sabha Seats in Punjab while debutant Aam Aadmi Party bagged 4 Lok Sabha Seats.
