Aam Aadmi Party nominee from Delhi South Raghav Chaddha on Saturday filed a writ petition in the Delhi High Court challenging the decision of the Returning Officer in which nomination papers of BJP candidate Ramesh Bidhuri were wrongly accepted despite concealment of important facts.

‘Have moved Delhi High Court today seeking disqualification of @rameshbidhuri as a candidate. He has concealed FIR pending against him. Concealment of a criminal case is serious offence & am sure his nomination will be rejected as soon as Court looks into the matter’, said Raghav Chaddha in a tweet.

He said people should not vote for Ramesh Bidhuri in the Lok Sabha Polls as his nomination will disqualify soon. ‘Only a matter of 30 days I’d say till High Court cancels his candidature. Urge the people of South Delhi Lok Sabha to not waste their vote on a candidate who will be disqualified anyways. He has lied to the people, to EC, but will soon answer to the law’, he said in another tweet.

AAP Nominee from Delhi South in its 60-page writ petition challenged the decision of the returning officer. He has requested the Delhi HC to cancel his nomination and blamed returning Returning Officer of accepting the nomination forms despite having shortcomings.

Chadha in its petition said that Bidhuri has concealed crucial information including pending criminal cases against him. In a 60-page writ petition filed against BJP sitting MP, it is alleged that he has ‘intentionally and deliberately’ concealed.

Bharatiya Janata Party MP candidate from South Delhi Ramesh Bidhuri in his reply to Returning Officer on objections raised over his nomination affidavit, stated,’ At time of filing of nomination had no knowledge of registration of FIR against me, Will comply with EC norm to the intimate public through media’.

He also slammed AAP and called it a ‘party of conspirators’.

AAP has alleged BJP nominee of failing to disclose particulars of pending criminal proceedings in Bihar’s Muzaffarnagar under Section of IPC 504, 506, 153 and 153(A).

The party has also alleged him of hiding annual income in the nomination form.

Lok Sabha Polls 2019 has already begun and would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Counting of Votes and Results for the mega Battle of ballots will be announced on May 23.

BJP in Delhi will be taking on Aam Aadmi Party and Congress. All 7 seats of Delhi will vote on May 12.
