Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will launch a state-wide ‘Bhajpa Bhagao, Bhagwan Bachao Yatra’ in Uttar Pradesh from January 12 in a run-up to Lok Sabha 2019 Elections. Party Leader and State Convenor Sanjay Singh made an announcement on Wednesday in Lucknow.

While addressing a presser, Party’s Senior Leader and the Rajya Sabha member said the Yatra will start from Ayodhya.

He added, The main aim of this Yatra is to expose the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), especially in the light of the hundreds of Shivlingas, which were allegedly found lying under the rubble of demolished structures to pave way for Kashi Vishwanath corridor — a pet project of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his parliamentary constituency.

Singh termed the pro-Hindutava posturing of the BJP as fake.  The Rajya Sabha member said the district administration had served notices to 176 temples in Varanasi, adding as to how the party that vowed to build a Ram temple in Ayodhya was now demolishing ancient temples in name of development.

Singh also slammed the Yogi Adityanath government in the state over the issue of for “failing law and order in the state” and demanded that a CBI probe should be ordered into the burning alive of a Dalit minor girl in Agra recently.

He said that on Thursday, the AAP would demonstrate at all district headquarters against the state’s BJP government.

Leaders of the Apna Dal, an ally of the BJP, will also be participating in the Yatra, Singh informed.

Ashish Patel, President of Apna Dal on Tuesday pointed his guns towards Bhartiya Janta Party and shows dissatisfaction towards BJP approach of handling small allies.

Ashish Patel said that the big allies should give due respect and importance to the small parties. He said that the leaders and workers of the small parties are hurt if not given due importance.

He expressed his pain over BJP-led state government’s indifference towards his wife Anupriya Patel, who is also the Union Minister of State for Health. He claimed that she was not even invited for inaugurations of medical colleges.

He also cautioned the saffron party that a tie-up between the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and the Samajwadi Party (SP) in Uttar Pradesh would pose a challenge to it in 2019 Lok Sabha election.
