Bharatiya Janata Party leader Devendra Fadnavis lashed out at the newly elected Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for stopping metro car-shed work at the Aarey colony which is considered to be the green lungs of the commercial capital.

Fadnavis said, “It’s unfortunate that State Government stayed Aarey Metro Car-Shed work in spite of Hon Supreme Court & Hon High Court orders. This shows State Government is not serious about Mumbai Infrastructure projects! And ultimate sufferer is common Mumbaikar only!”

Further lashing out at the ‘Maha Vikas Aghadi‘ government, he said, “Japan’s JICA had funded ₹15,000 crore for this Metro project on nominal interest rates. Such decisions will demotivate investors to come forward in future and all infra projects will get stalled which were already delayed for so long in previous 15 year rule.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced stay on construction of metro car shed project in the Aarey Colony on Friday.

Massive protests were held last month in Aarey Colony, where celebrities also participated against cutting of trees for the construction work. Addressing the media, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that not a single tree leaf will be cut till further developments.
