After Kerala, Delhi, West Bengal and Punjab Chief Ministers strictly opposed the implementation of Citizenship Amendment act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC), Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar has come out and openly opposed the same.

He said, “National Register of Citizens (NRC) will not be implemented in Bihar.”

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been carrying out a protest march against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act across the state. She said that they will continue their protest against CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC) until they are withdrawn by the Central government.

On the other hand, Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan, earlier, said that their state will not accept the legislation and termed it ‘unconstitutional’.

He said, “Citizenship Amendment Bill is unconstitutional. The central government is trying to divide India on religious lines. This is a move to sabotage equality and secularism.”

Delhi and Punjab Chief Ministers echoed similar sentiments over implementation of CAA and NRC.
