AIADMK announced candidates for the by-polls to be conducted in Tamil Nadu a day after AMMK announced its candidates for the by-polls.

AIADMK announced candidates for by-polls to be conducted in four assembly constituencies in Tamil Nadu a day after TTV Dhinakaran led Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) announced its candidates for the by-polls to be conducted on May 19 in the state of Tamil Nadu. V.V. Senthinathan is conducting from the constituency of Aravakurichi, S Muniyandi from the constituency of Thiruparankundram, VP Kandhasamy from Salur and P Mohan from Ottapidaram.

The AIADMK had tied up with the Bharatiya Janata Party for the general elections. DMK leader Kanimozhi had criticised the party leadership saying it had totally given up before the BJP after the death of its leader Jayalalitha.

The party coordinator O Panneerselvam and joint coordinator K Palaniswamy put out the statement. The party has a strength of 113 members presently and just needs a majority of 117 to win this general election in the legislative assembly which has 234 seats.

In the first phase of general elections in Tamil Nadu 38 out of the total 39 seats went for polling along with 18 assembly seats.
