Firebrand Leader and AIMIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday filed his nomination papers to contest from Hyderabad Parliamentary seat in the Upcoming General Elections 2019 that is slated to begin from April 11.

Owaisi who had represented the Hyderabad Lok Sabha Seat since 2004 took to social media site Twitter on the Occasion. ‘Alhamdulillah, filed my nomination papers today. Hyderabad Parliamentary Constituency has been the voice of India’s impoverished, oppressed & weak. Inshallah, it will continue to be so’ AIMIM Chief said in a tweet while sharing the images of him filing nomination papers.

AIMIM Chief Owaisi has won the Hyderabad seat three times in a row since 2004. In 2014, General Elections, Asaduddin Owaisi defeated BJP‘s Dr.Bhagavanth Rao with over 2 lakh votes amidst heavy ‘Modi’.

However, the route to victory for AIMIM Chief would not be a cakewalk if Congress pitched Cricketer-turned-Politician Mohammad Azharuddin from the same Lok Sabha Seat. Reports claimed Former Cricketer is the top pick of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) for the constituency of Hyderabad.

The ruling party in Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi has already announced that it will contest on 16 seats out of 17 while leaving a Hyderabad Parliamentary Constituency for AIMIM Chief Asadudduin Owaisi.

Telangana has a total of 17 Lok Sabha Seats and would go to Poll in a single phase on April 11. General Elections are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019.

The Counting of votes for the mega battle of ballots will take place on May 23, four days after last round of polling.

Recent Surveys Conducted by Various news Channels predicted TRS sweeping the Lok Sabha Polls winning 16 Lok Sabha Seats while AIMIM winning one seat in Hyderabad, the survey predicted.
