AIMIM Chief Owaisi has won the Hyderabad seat three times in a row since 2004. In 2014, General Elections, Asaduddin Owaisi defeated BJP‘s Dr.Bhagavanth Rao with over 2 lakh votes amidst heavy ‘Modi’.
However, the route to victory for AIMIM Chief would not be a cakewalk if Congress pitched Cricketer-turned-Politician Mohammad Azharuddin from the same Lok Sabha Seat. Reports claimed Former Cricketer is the top pick of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee(TPCC) for the constituency of Hyderabad.
The ruling party in Telangana, Telangana Rashtra Samithi has already announced that it will contest on 16 seats out of 17 while leaving a Hyderabad Parliamentary Constituency for AIMIM Chief Asadudduin Owaisi.
Telangana has a total of 17 Lok Sabha Seats and would go to Poll in a single phase on April 11. General Elections are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Election Commission had on Sunday declared schedule for General Elections 2019.
The Counting of votes for the mega battle of ballots will take place on May 23, four days after last round of polling.
