BJP, Bhartiya Janata Party launched its election campaign to win 250 plus seats in upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls in Amravati, Maharashtra. The launch announcement was spearheaded by none other than the political giants such as Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

On Thursday, while addressing ‘Maha Jandesh yatra’, Rajnath Singh called party workers for aiming for at least 250 plus seats in upcoming elections. The election will be held for a total of 288 seats of Legislative assembly. With Shiv Sena giving support to BJP, The leaders directed party workers to aim high and achieve this ambitious target.

The Yatra will commence into two phases, with the first phase commencing from 9 August. Party will campaign in Mozari and Nandurbar areas of North Maharashtra in this phase. While the second phase will commence from August 17 to 31. In total, The Yatra will set to envelop 152 assembly constituencies spanning across 30 districts in the state.

In the meeting convened with the party workers, Rajnath Singh praised the work done by the Fadnavis government. He lauded his efforts for giving reservations to the Maratha community, fulfilling a long-lived dream of Maharashtrians. Rajnath Singh also applauded the 5 years of work of Fadnavis government and his Chief Minister’s  Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Shetkari Samman Yojana under which Rs. 18 thousand 36 crores have been provided to 43 lakh farmers till now.

 

For the yatra, Fadnavis is expected to attend around 104 election rallies, 228 Swagat Sabhas, and 20 Press conferences. The State polls are scheduled to be held in October-November this year. The BJP-Shiv Sena combination seems to be on upfront in campaigning as Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray have also kickstarted the second phase of his Jan Aashirwad Yatra.

In such a heated political environment of upcoming elections in the state, Other opposition parties have also started their election campaigns. In the same light, Indian Youth Congress has launched ‘Wake up Maharsthra‘ campaign to reach out to 5 crore voters ahead of polls.
