Former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and the chief of Samajwadi Party, Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday held the BJP government ruling at the state as well as the centre responsible for the unrest and the agitation on the campuses of different universities.

He said that the BJP government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were forcefully imposing the RSS ideology in the universities. He also alleged that since BJP came to power the atmosphere of the educational institutions have been changed and is spoiled now.

This statement of the former Chief Minister comes after he held interactions with leaders of the students of different universities, including Jawaharlal Nehru University, the Delhi University and the Allahabad University. While talking to the students he also said that because of these frequent unrest, the reputation of the universities is also harmed.

Akhilesh said that the youth of the nation has always brought about a change in the country and BJP is not doing right by suppressing the voice of dissent. He alleged that the ruling party was deliberately playing conspiracy to crush the morale of students.

While interacting with the students he said that they should concentrate on their studies for the time being. They will get a chance to bring the change in 2019 during the Lok Sabha elections, by choosing the right candidate. He said that there is no need for the students to start the preparations for the elections from now on.

But, he also insisted that they should not stop raising their voice over what they think is wrong and against injustice. “The students and youth will have to remain prepared for playing a double role,” the SP chief said.

It is likely that the comments of the Samajwadi Party leader also come as a result of what recently happened in Banaras Hindu University. A first-year student was molested by three boys riding a bike at around 6 pm, on 21 Sep. The university administration did not take any actions against the boys despite the girls seeking justice knocking on the doors. This negligence of the senior administration led to a heavy protest by the students. Coincidentally, the day this thing happened Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also present in his constituency, Banaras.

The students protesting were asked to keep quiet and their voices were suppressed until the PM was gone. Was this done to disguise to the Prime Minister that the administration of BHU is carrying forward its duty very well or the voices were suppressed because of the fear of BJP?
