In a surprising turn of events, Samajwadi Chief and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav dissolved all the executives of party’s state, district, and youth wing. Though the party has retained Naresh Uttam on the post of state president.

In elections, Samajwadi Party had lost power to Bhartiya Janta Party in the state, after which its voter’s share has been on a tumbling edge. Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati‘s Bahujan Samaj Party were fighting in collaboration until Mayawati decided to end the ties.

The much-awaited “gathbandhan” team of two political giants in the state, Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav made a history. It was decided that the two parties will contest on an equal number of seats in the Lok Sabha elections. The remaining of the 80 seats will either go to the Congress party without an alliance or to another ally of the new “gathbandhan”.

But after the national elections, even though the Bahujan Samaj Party improved its performance, Mayawati was not satisfied with the result. She said that her party did not enjoy Yadav voters supporters in the alliance.

Her party went from securing 0 seats in 2014 Lok Sabha elections to gaining almost 10 seats in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But this didn’t make BSP Chief Mayawati happy with the collaboration and she decided to take a break.  Bahujan Samaj Party President Mayawati also alleged that SP President Akhilesh Yadav is ‘anti-Muslim. Therefore within less than two weeks of Lok Sabha result declaration, Mayawati ended her ties with Samajwadi party.

Now this decision by Akhilesh Yadav has left everyone in a dizzy as to what Samajwadi Party is up to.
