Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Monday said all the Congress MLAs is ready to resign if needed to accommodate the MLAs.

Speaking to media, Deputy CM said, ‘I have called a breakfast meeting of all the Ministers belonging to Congress party, to discuss the present political developments and the fallout. We know what BJP is trying to do. If need be, all of us may resign and then accommodate the MLAs’, said Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara while talking to media’.

While Party MP DK Suresh also said that all his ministers are ready to resign and said there is no infighting within the party. DK Suresh said, ‘All the ministers of Congress will resign, some of them are busy in other works, they will come soon’, he said while adding that there is no infighting within the party.

He also slammed Bharatiya Janata Party of making attempts to topple the 13 months old coalition government. Accusing BJP, he said the BJP’s central leaders are behind this. ‘They are destroying Democracy as they don’t want any other government in any state’.

However, he claimed that the coalition government is stable. ‘We are in touch with all our MLAs and the government is safe currently, Congress MP said.

In the meantime, Karnataka Minister and Independent MLA Nagesh on Monday resigned from his minister post. In a letter to Governor Vajubhai Vala, Independent Legislator stated, ‘I have already withdrawn my support to the government headed by HD Kumaraswamy. I would further by this letter unequivocally state that I would extend my support to the Bharatiya Janata Party if called for by your good self’.

H Nagesh was inducted in the Karnataka Cabinet by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on June 14 along with another Independent Lawmaker R Shankar.

The quick turn of events comes days after 11 MLAs from CongressJD(S) ruling coalition meet Assembly Speaker on Saturday and tendered their resignation giving a big blow to the coalition government. However, JD-S Rebel MLA H Vishwanath claimed that 14 MLAs have tendered their resignations.

Soon after the development, Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy who was in the US, rushed back in a special Charted Flight that reached in Bangalore on Sunday. Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is also expected to hold a meeting soon with all his MLAs to take stock of the situation amid the latest political crisis.
