Speaking at the 49th Foundation day celebrations of Bureau of Police Research and Development at its headquarters in the national capital today, Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the organization’s new logo. The event’s theme was “promoting good practices and standards.

Form the podium, Amit Shah announced that according to a draft sent by BPRD, Police University & Forensic Science University will be set up at the national level. There will be colleges affiliated to it in every state.

The Minister also gave away awards to the police officer’s representatives for their outstanding contribution. He advised the BPR&D organization to adopt a holistic approach towards modernization of the policing system. He, as quoted by ANI, said, “We need to bring reforms in the police force in accordance with the changing challenges. But police reform is a huge concept and therefore it needs to be redesigned by the BPR&D.”

Addressing the event further, Amit Shah further emphasized on the importance of National security. He iterated the aim of making India a 5 trillion dollar economy. He said that this dream would only be achieved if the national security of the country remains intact. He recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s vision of making India a 5 trillion dollar economy.
Therefore he heavily called for the need to maintain internal and external security of the
country.

Home Minister force also urged to begin a consultation process to make necessary
changes within the CrPC and IPC statute. He, therefore, called for the invitations of suggestions to the Home Ministry.
