BJP President Amit Shah met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on 30 May, diplomatically on the pretext of holding meeting with BJP members for discussion on party’s expansion plans across the country.

Both Amit Shah and Mohan Bhagwat arrived for the meeting from Delhi in the same flight earlier in the day and headed straight for the meeting at Ravi Bhavan. The meeting held behind the closed doors lasted for two and a half hours, but the insights of the meeting are not known yet.

Than Amit Shah addressed BJP’s members asking them to reach out to the masses. Shah talked about booth-level expansion strategy of the party. He asked the office bearers and party leaders to strengthen booth-level functioning of the party and reach out to the last person in the society BJP city president Sudhakar Kohale told PTI.

According to the party sources Shah also spoke about Modi’s intention of holding all elections, be it the Lok Sabha election or the local body elections simultaneously from 2024. The main reason to think about taking this decision is to save expenditure spent during election campaigns. The party sources further added, quoting Shah that, The government expenditure in conducting the recent Uttar Pradesh election was about Rs 1,900 crore. Therefore to cut down this expenditure, Modi government is thinking of holding all elections simultaneously from 2024.
