Ahead of the assembly elections in Gujarat, which are to be held in two phases on 9 Dec and 14 Dec, BJP party President Amit Shah on Tuesday launched the ‘Gujarat Gaurav Maha-Sampark Abhiyan.

This Abhiyan is a part of the party’s election campaign in Gujarat, where the members of the ruling BJP will reach out to the voters through this door to door campaign in 50,000 booths.

Gujarat has become the battlefield for both BJP and Congress, where the latter is trying hard to put an end to the rule of BJP, who has been sitting on the throne from past 22 years. The main weapons of the Congress that it is using to pull down the government is the failure of the experiments made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the note ban and implementation of GST.

While on the other hand, BJP is quite confident that it will be voted back to power, even if the Congress woos away the support of the Patidars, OBCs, and the Dalits by making hollow promises to them.

Though BJP is also concentrating on the election campaigns in Himachal Pradesh, which will go to polls on 9 Nov, it has not left Gujarat unattended, unlike the Congress. It seems like Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi is the only one who is single handedly handling all the campaigning, be it in Gujarat or in Himachal.

If compared with the campaigns of BJP, while Narendra Modi was in Himachal with few other senior BJP leaders, Gujarat was being attended by Amit Shah. But in case of the Congress, it is only Rahul who is traveling everywhere, when he was in Himachal Gujarat did not see any senior Congress leader campaigning and when he was attending Gujarat, Himachal was left abandoned with only Virbhadra Singh to take care of it.

The BJP Party resident Amit Shah, on Tuesday, began with yet another programme of the BJP to reach out to the electorate on a one on one basis by knocking on each and every door seeking their votes. Shah, after offering prayers at the Ambaji Temple on Sola road area, launched the campaign from Naranpura constituency, from where he was an MLA earlier.

Taking on the campaign forward himself, he visited around 10 residential societies, including Parasnagar. As a part of the campaign, Shah amid beats of drums, accompanied by many other BJP workers, visited few houses and also went inside to interact with the residents, asked them about their well being and appealed for votes.

Amit Shah had been the MLA of the region since 1998 and had only resigned recently after he was elected to the Rajya Sabha. Since popular in the region and well acquainted with the region, Shah was given a hearty welcome by the people.

The BJP leader also distributed copies of a letter written by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to every resident they met during the campaign.

While Amit Shah had begun the campaign from Naranpura constituency, incumbent Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, former Chief Minister Anandiben Patel and other BJP leaders also launched the Gujarat Gaurav Maha-Sampark Abhiyan from different parts of the state.

Vijay Rupani began from Gandhigram area of his Rajkot-2 constituency and Anandiben Patel campaigned from her Gathlodia constituency of Ahmedabad city.

The main aim of launching this campaigning and personally reaching out to every voter is to educate the people about the achievements of BJP and what the party has done for them and for the development of the state.

Gujarat BJP spokesperson I K Jadeja yesterday informed that during the campaign, ahead of the polls several other union ministers including Smriti Irani, J P Nadda, Nirmala Sitharaman, V K Singh, Mansukh Mandaviya and Prakash Javadekar will also be visiting Gujarat to promote the campaign.
