Hours after Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu declared his party’s intentions to raise his state’s demands in the Parliament during the upcoming Budget session, Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah is learned to have invited him to Delhi to discuss all his issues.

Media reports claimed that Shah spoke to Naidu over the phone to invite him for discussions regarding the Centre’s commitments towards Andhra Pradesh along with Finance Minister Arun Jaitley tomorrow, before Parliament resumes business for the annual Budget session.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Naidu responded by promising that he will send a delegation on his behalf led by Union minister for Science and Technology Y.S. Chowdhary, along with Srikakulam MP Kinjarapu Naidu, Andhra Pradesh State Planning Board vice-chairman C. Kutumba Rao and other senior party leaders.

Naidu also told Amit Shah that his party’s fight is not against BJP or any other NDA ally, but it is against the injustice that is being meted out to his state. He cited the lack of budgetary provisions towards Andhra Pradesh in this year’s Finance Bill as grounds to support his adamant stand.

TDP had been successful in stalling Parliamentary proceedings several times during the first leg of this Budget session last month for protesting against the Centre for not fulfilling promises made to Andhra Pradesh during bifurcation of the state. Among other things, they have been asking for funds for new state capital Amravati and the Polavaram water project.
