As things heat up in the race to the finish in the Karnataka elections, both parties have come on the playing field guns blazing. The elections are 10 weeks away and the parties have much to do before D-day. Amit Shah dubbed the Congress-led government a ‘goonda government’.

Amit Shah is currently on a coastal tour in Karnataka. On the second day of the tour he addressed a gathering in Surathkal of press people and said the state wanted a change from Congress’ ‘goonda governance’. Among other things, he called the government the most corrupted. He said the Siddaramaiah led government could win an award for corruption. He also recalled the case of assault against the son of Congress member MLA NA Harris. Although Nalpad was expelled from the party, Shah says the government was dealing with the case in a way fo minority appeasement. Karnataka he declared is suffering from 3 Ms- Murder, Mafia and Ministerial corruption.

He said the people of Karnataka were looking at moving towards good governance instead. He also pointed to the killing of several BJP and RSS members. Shah said there were 19 scams and 22 political murders associated with the Congress government. BJP he insisted was working with a development agenda whereas Congress is not. Shah also said that BJP has always been accountable where Congress has not.

His tour began at the temple town dedicated to the Serpent God, he addressed the Navashakti Sammelan near Kukke Subramanya. He spoke about BJP’s booth strategy as well saying that if they could win a booth they could, in fact, win a constituency. BJP’s organisation at the booth level requires planning and a scientific approach. Shah said this will also be one of the reasons for BJP’s victory in Tripura. Shah is slated to address the students from Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha an RSS-run institution. Based on what Shah has said one can only hope BJP isn’t counting their chickens before they have hatched.
