Bharatiya Janata Party chief Amit Shah today launched a massive outreach programme called ‘Sampark Se Samarthan’ in preparation of next year’s crucial general elections by meeting former army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag.

Amit Shah met General Suhag at his residence to kick-start the outreach programme and deliberated various issues. They discussed ways in which decisions taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government have positively impacted farmers and soldiers.

After that, Shah called on former Lok Sabha general secretary Subhash Kashyap to discuss the government’s achievements. Kashyap is reported to have said after their meeting that the government has done good work but a lot is still left to be done. He also ruled out his intention to join politics.

BJP’s outreach programme involves a list over 1 lakh prominent personalities from all walks of life across the country. According to the party’s plans, 4000 BJP leaders will each meet 25 of these people in the list that includes known personalities belonging to fields of arts, cinema, literature, sports, journalism, music, farmers’ organizations, business corporations and the judiciary.

Apart from meeting prominent people under their campaign, BJP will also deploy 50 lakh BJP workers to travel door-to-door and apprise common people of the government’s achievements. These moves are aimed at maximizing the party’s outreach ahead of 2019 general elections.
